here to start immediately: Day One Being the diary of a journey from Seattle -
Finding myself would also be nice. |
| Site Outline | Links from one page to
another are always indicated by text underlined in blue. Each day of the journey has a page associated with it. There are a variety of ways to get there, but the best way to begin is to use the the Day Map. I've picked out some snippets and provided and index to them in the Snippet List; each entry in the list will link you to the relevant snippet on one of the Day Pages. Pictures also played an important part in this trip. In order to reduce page download size, I've only put thumbnails on the Day Pages. Thumbnails will like you to full size (320x240 pixel JPEG) images. The pictures have also been arranged into picture lists; the Picture List Index provides a way to get to them. There are a variety of reference pages: a bibliography of books read on the trip, a table table giving addresses and ratings of the RV sites we visited, the method used to create this site, the rig specification and a trip cost estimate. |
| Acknowledgements | This trip wouldn't
have happened without the example of G. R., who (a) took
to the road in an RV a while back, and (b) told me not
long ago when I was moaning about burn-out that I should
take some time off. I'm grateful to C. M. for giving me the opportunity to to disappear for a few weeks, and more generally, for figuring out a way for me to be useful to Microsoft. I could not have wandered off without a care in the world if it weren't for colleagues who would not only hold the fort, but have it in better shape when I got back - J. M., S. W. and C. H. |
| Context | This journal was
written as a personal record of a journey, primarily for
my own later use. Opinions are my own, and not
those of my employer, rational self, or conscience -
though some may be those of my inner child. In
fact, passages may be fiction, fantasy or invention. Unless specifically indicated, no insult, slight, demeaning remark or other inappropriate comment is intended. |
